Introduction
Welcome to Epic Seven! This guide is designed to help new players navigate the game efficiently, focusing on the most optimal progression path. Of course, if you prefer to play at your own pace or explore the game in your own way, that’s perfectly fine too—games are meant to be fun, after all! This guide will primarily focus on helping you clear Wyvern 13 (W13), the most important hunt for farming gear. The game provides nearly all the units and gear you need to tackle W13, so let’s get started!
Before diving in, let’s clarify some common abbreviations:
- PvE (Player vs Environment): Content where you fight against AI-controlled enemies.
- PvP (Player vs Player): Content like Arena, Guild Wars, and World Arena where you battle teams created by other players.
Reroll Guide (Selective Summon)
Rerolling is only relevant during free 5★ ticket events or free 10-summon events. The Selective Summon is unlocked after clearing Stage 1-4 and offers infinite attempts, ensuring you can get the best 5★ available. Each summon includes:
- 1x 5★ unit or artifact
- 2x 4★ heroes
- 2x 4★ artifacts
You can save one result and compare it with future rolls, so you don’t lose your best pull. If you’re starting during a 5★ ticket or free summon event, prioritize units like Fenne, Jenua, Nahkwol, or Celine. If you manage to pull a Moonlight (ML) 5★, it’s generally recommended to keep the account, though some ML 5★s are less impactful, so double-check with the community if unsure.
Top Picks for Selective Summon
- Iseria (Earth Ranger): The #1 choice. She’s versatile in PvE with strong debuffs and a unique skill cooldown reset for allies.
- Ravi (Fire Warrior): A strong bruiser in PvP with solid sustain and tankiness, though her PvE performance is average.
- Destina (Earth Soul Weaver): A decent healer/cleanser but has fallen off in PvP. She’s usable in mid-game PvE content.
- Song of Stars (Ranger Artifact): Great for PvE, especially in Wyvern, but no PvP utility.
- Baal & Sezan (Fire Mage): Useful in a couple of PvE areas but not essential.
- Vildred (Earth Thief): A late-game PvP unit that requires heavy investment (at least 3 imprints).
Do not reroll for Sigret—she’s available for free early on.
If you want to min-max your Selective Summon, consider looking for Montmorancy (3★) and artifacts like Magaraha’s Tome, Aurius, or Tagahel’s Ancient Book (4★). For 4★ units, Achates or Cidd are solid pickups. Keep in mind, this will make rerolling take longer.
General Tips
Getting Information
- Discord: The official Epic Seven Discord has a Guidance Grounds channel where you can ask questions and get quick answers. There are also many guides in the Community Guides channel.
- In-Game Help Menu: Accessible via the “?” button in the top-left corner of the Battle screen. The Combat Guide section is particularly useful for understanding game mechanics.
- Ceciliabot: The best online resource for hero/artifact stats and other features. Avoid Epic7x—it’s outdated and often provides incorrect information.
- YouTube: Be cautious with older videos, as the game frequently updates. Look for recent content or ask the community if the info is still relevant.
- Tier Lists: These don’t work well in Epic Seven due to the variety of content. A unit might excel in one area but be useless elsewhere. Focus on guides for specific content instead.
Currency Guide
There’s a detailed Currency Guide that explains how to acquire and use the various currencies in the game. For new players, the most important currencies are Gold, Skystones, and Covenant Bookmarks.
Heroes
- Keep at least one copy of every 3★ or higher unit. Even weak units can become strong after buffs.
- Promote heroes to increase their level cap to 60. Use duplicates for imprinting, which provides bonus stats and blooms for promotion.
- Aim to SSS imprint all 3★ units for reputation rewards, then sell extra copies for Silver Transmit Stones (STS).
Artifacts
- Keep every 5★ artifact—they can be buffed in the future.
- Refer to the 3-4★ Artifact Selling Guide to decide which artifacts to sell for Powder of Knowledge, used to buy 5★ artifacts and Bottle of Knowledge.
Experience (Exp)
- Account Rank Exp: Earned naturally by playing the game. The cap is rank 70.
- Unit Exp: Use penguins to level units. Max-level units convert excess exp into Stigma, which can be used to summon blooms or penguins.
- Friendship: Earned by using units in battles. At Friendship 10, you gain 3 skill points (equivalent to Molagoras) for that unit.
- Gear Exp: Acquired by selling gear or using charms.
- Artifact Exp: Use charms or low-rarity artifacts from Friendship Summons.
Early Game – Road to Wyvern 13
The early game focuses on clearing the story and preparing for Wyvern 13, the primary source of gear. Speed Set is the most universally useful, making Wyvern the best hunt to farm early on.
New Player Check-In
- Day 2: Free Attack Set (use on your main DPS, like Free Spirit Tieria).
- Day 3: Free HP Set (use on your tank, like Montmorancy).
- Day 5 & 11: Charms for enhancing gear.
- Day 6 & 13: Catalyst selector boxes.
- Day 7: 5★ Hero and Artifact ticket.
- Day 14: Instant 6★ promotion item (use on Montmorancy or Ras).
Adventure
- Clear Episode 1 and Episode 2 (up to Ep2 4-10). Use strong friend supporters to help with tough bosses.
- Focus on 3-starring every stage for Skystones and Molagora rewards.
Adventurer’s Path
Unlocked after Ep1 1-3. Complete the missions to earn rewards and progress through the game. The Hero’s Path (unlocked after Ep1 10-10) rewards a strong PvE tank.
Connections
- Free Spirit Tieria (FST): Your main farmer. Use the free Attack Set on her.
- Furious: Essential for Wyvern due to his debuffs.
- Tamarinne: The best PvE healer. Unlock her as soon as possible.
Sanctuary
Upgrade your Sanctuary buildings using Breath of Orbis. Prioritize:
- Forest of Souls: 3/3/3
- High Command: 1/1/1
- Heart of Orbis: 2/3/3
- Alchemist’s Steeple: 0/3/3 (finish the right side first).
- Steel Workshop: 3/3/3 (max before crafting gear).
Moonlight Blessing
Unlocked after Ep1 1-10. Choose a free ML 5★. The best choice is Specter Tenebria (STene) for her PvE utility. Other strong options include Arbiter Vildred (Arby) and Ruele.
Mid Game – Finishing PvE and Early PvP
Once you’re farming Wyvern 13, focus on gearing your units and clearing more PvE content. Push Arena for weekly Skystones and start building a Guild War team.
Gear/Crafting
- Sell bad substat gear or extract it for Equipment Cores.
- Use Equipment Conversion in the Alchemist’s Steeple to craft gear with selected main stats.
- Craft level 85 gear only. Prioritize left-side gear for better substat rolls.
Adventure
Push through Episode 2 and Episode 3 to unlock Adventurer Ras (ARas), a core unit for mid-game progression. Clear Episode 4 to unlock Adin, who can undergo multiple Specialty Changes.
Arena and Guild War
- Build a basic Arena offense team: 1 healer, 1 knight, 1 DPS/bruiser, and 1 flex unit.
- For Guild War, copy common defense teams and focus on improving your offense.
Late Game – Gear Optimization
At this point, you’ve cleared most PvE content and are progressing in PvP. Focus on optimizing your gear and building specialized teams for high-level content like Rift and Caides 13.
Wyvern One Shot
One-shot teams aren’t as necessary now due to Rift being a better source of gear. However, if you want to set one up, check out guides for Clarissa, Sinful Angelica, and Sigret teams.
Caides 13
Caides is the hardest hunt to farm, so prioritize Rift instead. If you must farm Caides, focus on Penetration Set for single-target DPS units.
World Arena (RTA)
Unlocked at rank 60, RTA is the pinnacle of PvP. Even if you’re not competitive, try to complete your placements for rewards. Watch streams and guides to improve your drafting and gameplay.
For the latest PvP hero rankings, check out the Epic Seven PvP Tier List to see which units are dominating RTA and Arena.
This guide should set you on the right path to mastering Epic Seven. Remember, the game is constantly evolving, so stay active in the community and adapt to new updates. Good luck, and enjoy your journey in Orbis!
